What we’re looking for (qualifications)

We are not big on formal qualifications, and we value hands-on skills. We also enjoy working with people looking to learn new things and have a sense of responsibility toward their work.

  • Professional Experience:

    • 3+ years of experience working as an applied scientist, research engineer, or software engineer focused on LLMs.

    • Extensive experience in fine-tuning and improving large language models and building intelligent software agents using reinforcement learning.

    • Hands-on experience developing cutting-edge multimodal AI systems for real-world applications.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Expertise in fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) and other AI architectures to specific domains and tasks, leveraging techniques like LORA (Low-Rank Adaptation) to achieve high performance with limited data

    • Experience working with the systems engineering aspects of LLMs, such as distributed training and autoscaling inference

    • Building multimodal AI systems that can process and integrate data from multiple modalities, such as text, images, speech, and sensor inputs, to enable rich, contextual understanding

    • Strong background in reinforcement learning techniques, including deep Q-learning, policy gradients, and multi-agent frameworks, to train AI agents to make optimal decisions

  • Programming Skills: Proficient in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, distributed systems, and optimization techniques like LORA, DeepSpeed, and quantization

  • Big Data and Streaming: Experience with big data technologies and streaming applications.

  • API and Platform Integration: Proven ability to work with APIs and Platforms for system integration.

  • Cloud Infrastructure Knowledge: General understanding of AWS or similar public cloud infrastructure.

  • Team Collaboration: Willingness to work in a fully remote team environment.

  • Learning and Innovation: Strong curiosity and passion for learning new technologies and methodologies.

  • Nice to Have:

    • Conversational AI Experience: Prior experience in developing conversational bots.

    • Data Systems Knowledge: Experience with ETL, search, and data management systems.

  • Solution Development: Leverage machine learning, NLP, and deep learning on large-scale structured and unstructured data to design and implement conversational solutions.

  • Research and Development: Engage in continuous research and development to design dynamic models, conduct experiments, enhance system performance, and build scalable production systems.
